Music Video Analysis

THIS IS AMERICA
This is an America music video that conveys a message of the violence in America, in particular, gun violence. Donald Glover is a political activist and plays an eccentric and unorthodox character in "This Is America". Many people would see him as inspiring as he is talking up about the issues that are happening in America and making people understand what is going on around them. This is America is a single camera as it lets the audience feel more included, whilst Childish is dancing historical events that are happening around him which allows the audience to have their own interpretations. Also, the long shot allows to see everything and brings their interest in, the continuous shot shows that there is no change in America. Throughout the music video the audience tend to focus on the dancers and ignores the events happening behind them, this shows the ignorance in America, it also has quick camera movements implying how quick and easy it is to kill people. The dark lightning suggests the bad situations almost like he is trapped in this corrupt society, In the end Childish is trying to run away in this dark lightning, from interpretations he could be trying to run away from society but all corrupt events are chasing him. The location also suggests a prison and metaphorically America is a prison and no one can escape.

Fake Love Bts
Bts are a very popular k pop group that has become the best boyband worldwide, their particular music video called "fake love"shocked many fans. There are many layers of meaning towards this music video. Fake love allows us to see to gain an insight into their lives, throughout the music video all the boys are exchanging their past fears for something that makes them happy. Though these stories aren't real it allows the audience to have a personal identification with them and helped them escape from the real world. Towards the end of the video, they realize that the things they traded were only temporary happiness. They wear masks to cover up their scars but realize it's not covering anything because of these masks they no longer recognize who they are, which also leads to their next album face yourself. This conveys a message to the audience to stop hiding your true self before you actually lose yourself and be real to who you are. Throughout the video, it is in dark lightning showing that they are hiding in the dark and not coming out in the light

Rule of thirds is when the subject isn't centered in the image, instead the main focus is put onto one side so the audience can see what is going on in the background.Using this rule it allows the audience to not only focus on the main centre and perhaps focus whats going on in the space given. This rule allows the audience to know exactly where everyone is in relation to each other. For example in this image from Harry potter Hermione is on the right but is seen as the main focus however Harry is at the back left so the audience can still see him. This helps the director as they can put the most important things in the frame, it also captivates the audience and brings their focus in.
